As a lightship, the Den Store Bjorn (“The Great Bear”) received a strong hull. She was one of the largest ships to be used for this propose in Danish waters. After her retirement, the ship was rigged as a schooner in Hobro. The most advanced students of the Small School now use it as a training vessel to supplement the curriculum. The young people study at this school for three years.
